Hey I was just wondering if anybody else has struggled to wiggle the cams back in after replacing the chain... I have removed the tensioner and the piston is at top dead center but I still just can’t seem to get them in. Any help is appreciated thanks

Yeah, it's not easy, I struggle with it every time. I find if you point the gear ends a little bit down it helps, and I have found putting both gears into the chain before you put the actual cams into the slot where they sit is the only way it works, at least for me.

Ditto. We roll the cams into their cradles allowing for the slight rotation relative to the timing marks. Not saying this is necessary correct, but it works. Forcing them into position could easily damage the aluminum bearing surfaces.

I roll them to the center of the engine so start in the middle and roll each one into position.
