Alright i want to get some more air into my intake is it a good idea to run with the lid off or get an aftermarket lid like EHS or something similar? If its better to run it with a lid what are some good ones?

take it off the lid!
ive even gone mudding with mine of and had no issues!!!
just take ur lid off and depending on what u have for an intake use and outerwear
I will sell you my brand new EHS lid cheap, PM me if you want it!!!
Like the others said...TAKE IT OFF! HAHA Ive road in very dusty conditions and my filter doesnt even get that dirty due to somewhat poor airflow under the seat. Also most people from what Ive heard dont get near the gain from lids as they do from removing but just remember to JET accordingly.

And keep in mind the make Outwears airbox lid covers as well as filter skins.
I'm going to be running a pro design with k&n and outerwares will that still be alright with lid off cause I've heard some things that they like to let a lot through.

Dont buy that Pro desing unless you WANT one, Everyone here is saying the Fuel Customs Intake is 100% beter

im about to Upgrade to a Fuel Customs,

Ill sell you my Proflo with a K&N and a UNI Dual Stage, pm if you want
I don't know how other people are able to keep theirs so clean, but before I had my EHS lid, my filter (with outerwear) would get absolutely filthy after just one ride in very dusty conditions. After installing the EHS lid with my outerwear still installed, I hardly ever have to clean my filter. I have also heard that the Fuel Customs Intake is a very good intake, but mine runs great with the EHS lid so I feel no need to swap for the FCI.

Did installing the EHS lid effect the jetting at all?

im thinkin about getting a lid or buying a UNI for dune season. Damn was i shocked to see how much sand got through my K&N my last dune trip. and ive never really had that probelm, i clean my filter after every ride, oil it and use an outerwear.

Sorry man already ordered one the other day and im getting it tomorrow.

The biggest thing i was worried about with taking the lid off was keeping it clean. Are you guys cleaning after every ride with it off or about how long do you wait?
after every ride or as soon as i get back from a weekend of duning or riding.

Installing the EHS lid did not affect my jetting at all (I was already running with no lid). If your jetting is set for running a lid and you install the EHS lid you will most likely have to rejet for no lid, as the EHS is just like having no lid but it filters out dust and debris.
