Gear doesn’t come with it my man, if you’re at the point of no return just buy the primary gear on the clutch basket(clutch basket) or you’ll be shit out of luck

True, the H316 itself doesn’t come with the gear. However if you are able to find the full H316-B-0901 “kit” part number like I posted above, it comes with the gear installed and the bolts are pinned to their basket from Hinson and the thrust washer is supplied... but it did cost $599 (purchased Dec. 2020 directly from Hinson’s site). Now that is a lot of $, but it is about the same cost as the Hinson 09 Basket and the stock 09 basket with OEM gear and a lot less hassle. I do wish Yamaha would just sell the damn gear separately, but they apparently don’t consider it a “serviceable component” and instead make us buy the whole Gp.
Now, I was coming from a 2019 YFZ450R and needed the basket and gear because I chose to do the full 09 conversion all the way from the basket to the cover. That was my choice. In my opinion it’s just a better/stronger design honestly than the current Gen.
Hinson, Rekluse and most Aftermarket Mfgs are exactly the same setup/requirements. If you want the actual 09 setup you need that gear on the back. 99% of the full clutch kits out there do not come with that gear. Some do supply their basket minus gear as they assume you already have the OEM gear from your OEM basket.
If you are a 14-Current Gen and you want the full 09 setup then you need to get the gear. Most people just buy the 09 OEM basket that comes with the gear installed and then they just rob it from there, press it on, pin/weld it to an aftermarket basket (keep in mind if yours is this Gen you also need the 09 OEM Thrust Washer ~$8, Part# below).
If you already have the stock 09 basket and you just want to upgrade the basket cuz maybe your existing stock one has the notorious notches in it, then you just reuse your existing gear. Hope that helps
Yes none of them are selling the primary gear on them. Maybe if you call them they’ll buy it abs assemble it for you but as of right now if you’re going after market basket you’ll have to order the 09-10 basket and remove the primary gear and put it on the aftermarket basket or just slap the 09-10 basket on. I put the 09-10 basket on and I’ve had no issues at all
The H316-B-0901 basket itself is $599.99. If you were to purchase a complete kit, it would cost $1439.99. This includes the basket (with gear), inner hub, pressure plate, plates/springs, and cover.
ideal to go w/ the fiber, steel and spring upgrade here while doing this clutch basket upgrade? or would he basket alone be ok for the time being? also modding out my YFZ 450R . Many thanks
Has anyone used the 09 primary gear with the rekluse radius cx auto clutch? Need to know if I need to buy a Hinson clutch basket to throw in the Rekluse or if Rekluse made a clutch basket that the 09 primary with fit into?

Likely the feeling is different due to OEM slipper clutch feel vs. “non”-slipper clutch feel, assuming you went from the 14-C setup to the wholesale 09 setup. Clutch Spring tension likely plays into this as well. Although tough to nail down as this is only over text lol. Hinson’s clutch setup does have stronger springs than OEM so it will likely feel a bit “tougher” when working the clutch and will have more bite if you will because of that, in addition to better disks. Rekluse comes with a series of springs that can be mixed and matched to get the desired clutch lever feel or bite or slip depending on your viewpoint (at least the Manual Torq Drive does according to Rekluse when I last spoke with them, pretty sure the RadiusCX auto does as well but can’t confim). Rekluse manual also has more disks which effectively drives a more positive grab.
In short, if you are looking for a stock feel, getting a full race ready upgraded clutch setup likely won’t get you there. It grabs more by design, puts more power down by design. The closest you may get is adjusting which springs are leveraged which may not give you the performance it could offer but will make the feel more “friendly” and of course aftermarket clutches (Hinson/Rekluse/ many others)absolutely will improve durability over stock.
worked for the throttle maybe lighting strikes twice lol. I got my vortex a few years ago on here a vendor was doing a good buy for like $589 he needed to sell 10

Hinson makes/made a basket that did include the Gear. I purchased one in December 2020 but I do not find it on their site anymore. Maybe a call to them and see if it’s just not advertised anymore? Just a thought. Below is the Part Number for reference but this is the “09” Basket and gear setup. Does include the appropriate thrust washer as well in this kit. Gear is bolted to and pinned from their factory.
I shot a quick email over to Hinson and can confirm that they do still carry the basket with included primary gear (Part # H316-B-0901). Per Hinson they will have more baskets available to build next week, priced at $599.99.
