As Tyler alluded to above, it's not all about peak power either. You want a good overall delivery, even if it makes less peak power than another exhaust.

I’d give up 5hp at peak for a curve that’s wide enough to let me mess up.

I hate getting on a build that makes a ton of power but has a shit curve. Nothing worse than having to feather the clutch out of half your corners because 2nd has it bouncing off the rev limiter and 3rd doesn’t have enough balls to pull it.
