I recently got a 2020 YFZ450R and will be doing a bunch of mods to it. The main purpose of this build is trail riding. I'll be posting pics of the build progress.

Here's a list of mods. All parts are on their way.
I'm open towards parts suggestions! Anything you recommend, please let me know.

  • Walsh Linkage
  • Walsh MX A-Arms
  • Walsh +1 Stem
  • Walsh Clamp
  • Walsh Foot Pegs
  • Walsh Brake Pedal Tip
  • Walsh Spark Plug Holder
  • Walsh Parking Brake Block Off Plate
  • Vortex / Wienen map
  • Rath MX Signature Nerf Bars
  • Rath Signature Bumper
  • Rath Bumper Bracket
  • Works Connection Plugs
  • Works Connection Perch
  • Works Connection Titanium Perch Bolts
  • Beringer Front Brake Master Cylinder
  • Precision Elite Stabilizer
  • RPM Dominator II Axle with Pressed Sprocket Hub

  • Lonestar Axle Nut
  • Lonestar Rear Hubs

  • Peak Racing Dash Guard
  • Peak Racing Clutch Plug/AIS delete
  • Peak Racing Stem Block
  • Yamaha 2013 Cable Holder

  • JSR Nets
  • Hinson Conventional Clutch Kit with 2009 Hinson Basket
  • Teixeira Guard Combo or Ricochet Skid Plate
  • Antigravity YTZ7-8 Battery
  • QuadTech Seat
  • SSI Decals
If you guys want to use the 2009 Hinson Basket with your 2014-2020 YFZ450R, you must get the gear from the 2009 OEM basket and the thrust plate (OEM part 5XD-16154-00-00)

Wienen Motorsports helped with the suspension setup. It will be dialed to my specs. I got most of the parts from them, except for the DWT wheels which I purchased from KB Motorsports. I plan on getting a modded cylinder head next year from WM (Malaska).

What’s the peak dash guard and rath bumper bracket?
The dash guard is a clear bra protector for the dash and the the Rath bumper bracket is a bracket Rath made me to mount the Rath bumper with a TM Designworks skid plate or GYTR.

Sounds like this will be a sick build. The only missing piece is your gear!

You got mx width stuff with trail riding in mind? Mx width is hard around here.
Rath pegs or walsh? Is there a difference or a swap?

Also I'd get a steel rear sprocket. That aluminum gytr will wear in no time trail riding and the dual guard channels dirt and debris in to the chain and sprocket.

Walsh foot pegs for Rath MX Signature nerf bars
https://www.walshrc.com/product/frame-foot-pegs-mounts/

I know the aluminum sprocket won't last much, but I just like how it looks. You would recommend a normal skid plate like Ricochet? I have one of those available just in case...

My trails are very different from the narrow cross country ones, so MX width is just right.

I’m considering the Precision Clamps for my Walsh +1 stem, but I wouldn’t want my CR High bars any taller than they are with the +1 stem and Walsh clamp. Will the Precision Clamps increase hight?

I have cr high with Walsh +1 and precision clamps. I think the clamps add about 3/4” if I remember reading that somewhere. I could take a measurement from the ground to the bars if you want. I’m 6’1” and I like the feel but everyone is different.

Thanks! How does it look with the Renthal bar pad? I honestly don't dig the Precision bar pad much (I prefer something blue).

It's tough to get other bar pads to fit as the clamps take up more space.

Where are you riding? That looks amazing!

I’ve decided I won’t be using the Precision Clamps, it increases the bar height too much. I might try the XC Gear Mako 360 later on, but for now I’m just going to ride with the Walsh clamp and the Renthal CR High.

Standard height stem or even +.5 will rub against the tank plastic causing resistance when turning. I bought both of them for my 2016 and it bothered me a lot.
