i believe the mounting holes are in different locations so the 06 caliper will not line up with the 04 pattern. I believe thats what i remember.
06 Caliper On A 04
I have a 04 yfz with a Janssen swing arm and brake stay what do i need to change to put this brand new 06 caliper i have on my bike. Thanks Brett

The only difference with the disc is the piece that goes on the axle. The 04 is wider than the 06. I just did the exact opposite by putting the 06 swingarm on and ended up have to buy an 06 caliper. I got by without buying a new brake disc by just making a spacer for it. Works just fine. But all in all u need the same year brake caliper as the swingarm. 04-05, 06-10.
