Got an 04 YFZ450, the fan was working yesterday then I took it for another ride and the overheat light came on , and the fan wouldn’t kick on. I’ve checked the fuse, I’ve tried jumping the sensor wires together, while the key is on and nothing. I’ve tested the fan by itself, it works good. Also, idk if related but it started at the same time I feel, when you try to start it , it will do solenoid click and do nothing but you press the start button again fires right up.
I’ve checked the wiring, don’t see nothing broke or unplugged. I was just gonna wire a toggle switch from the battery but I’ve been reading it will cause misfire issues.
Will a whacky solenoid make the fan not work , or what else should I be looking at. I’d prefer to fix it right, but is there a safe way to wire a toggle switch?
