2018 YFZ450R getting it ready for GNCC?

Just bought one and am looking to set it up for some GNCC events. I am 6’4 230. Definitely wanna set this bike up right. Looking for any kind of parts list or tips and tricks on what to do. Best place to get parts etc.

I’m thinking:
Front bumper
Nerf bars with heel guards
Case saver
Chain guard
Skid plates
Steering stem +1 or 2? Since I’m so tall.
Precision stabilizer
Flexx handlebars
Full exhaust (Dasa or FMF 4.1)
FCI intake
Vortex (who should I have tune it?)
Beadlocks with XC tires

Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Suspension should be top of your list.
I'm 6'3" and run a +3+1 with flexx.
Tire balls of some sort for sure.
Hand guards.
Comfort and reliability. That's what you need.

Lsr +3+1 flexx bars honda throttle cycra hand guards Precision pro Houser xc fox shocks
Roll tech bead locks 4:1 xc master tires
Stock rear shock still. Some poly skid plate
Ricochet rear skid. Getting rid of that for separate guards. I have oury grips because I have big hands. I weight 195
Tire balls are just that. Balls in the tire to keep them from going flat.

Ok so you have LSR +3+1 with Precision stabilizer? What degree bend are your Flex bars? Did you have to get all new cables to reach since you went that long? I can’t find a +3+1 combo....only+2. Would you mind posting a link? Balls in the tires is new to me but hey sounds like it works lol. You have nerf bars? If so what kind? Thanks for all the help so far.

14 degree.
I got the stem from lsr. Call them and tell them you want a +3. They have to make it.
Needs longer cables.
I have the Houser pro bounce. But apparently they stopped making them.

I personally like the Precision clamps a lot better than Flexx bars but it's all about preference. If you can find people with both try them out, even just sitting on them and pushing and pulling in various directions, before making a decision.

The steering stabilizer is the #1 thing that will make you faster. You can eat roots and rocks without worrying about breaking your wrists (if you're racing, you should be going fast enough to break your wrists lol). Pro bounce nerfs really do help in a 1.5hr race. It's all preference on flexx bars or precision clamps. I went precision clamps so I can have more options with bar bends. You probably want to get a 08 yz450f intake cam right away. It wakes up the bottom end so you don't smoke your clutch in technical stuff. Get an aluminum skid plate. The poly one is nice, but if you're going warp speed and bashing rocks, metal will offer more protection. If you get a Fuel Customs Intake, get the box with it.

Yes I have to get the stem-bars-stabilizer first. I’m cramped in this thing. I don’t think they make the pro bounce nerfs anymore but I will look. I am definitely gonna need more power yes. I’m a big guy.

I just bought a pair of XC pro bounce. Maybe it’s only those who have them in stock? But should be able to find them.

Also bought the Hedstrom balls. I was told 16 for each rear tire and 8 for each front but haven’t put them in yet. Found ones at Walmart on clearance and got enough to do all tires for like $50.

No way they stopped making the pro-bounce. Over the past 2 years I've seen it go from maybe a hand full of quads racing on them to easily 40-50%. I HOPE they stopped making them... I have a used pair for sale: $700 lol

I did find a couple people that sold them but only one place had the XC version. If anyone else in here knows where to get the XC version please let me know. What’s the 2nd best option for nerf bars? I would like some with heel guards as well.

Couple more questions.

I need a kill switch. Pro design seems the best but need to know if I am open circuit or closed circuit?

Bark busters with hand guards. What kind do you guys run? They just have to be ordered for the size of handlebars right?
