California paper pushers and ridiculous laws passed forced yamaha to emmission control the crap out of a one cylinder engine. In this forum I learned the BEST/ONLY way to get rid of the BOG is with the VORTEX ECU. START SAVING OR PLASTIC IT.

My quad does same thing 2018 bone stock. Im at sea level and ride between sea level and 1300 feet above sea level and it is not that bad AS LONG AS YOU DONT SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN. KEEP THOSE RPMS UP. YES I KNOW IT SUCKS AFTER PAYING CLOSE TO 9K FOR MINE NEW. When slowing down like in a corner and downshifting and getting on the throttle it has a delay that is noticeable. So until you get a vortex, your best best is TO KEEP THE ENGINE TURNING AS TO NOT MAKE IT HAVE A SUDDEN OFF IDLE ACCELERATION DELAY/BOG/SPUTTER whatever you want to call it. AS SOON AS I fix my trucks TRANNY it is vortex time.

Start saving or PLASTIC IT.

SHEERIDER iS THE MAN ON THESE THINGS. KILROY TOO. Im still learning.
