Yfz450r 2010 struggling to start

I jumped startered the quad with a car and it kept wind and than after while it started. So I bought a new YUASA battery and put it in and it started straight away. About 2 hours after that I tried starting it and than it clicks , than slowly winds and winds than it starts. It took a while to start the same way I tried when I jumped started it with a car. I also changed the starter relay with my other yfz450r and it still done the same thing. Any recommendations to what the problem is ... thanks guys.

if i was you i would gamble and order a new OEM voltage regulator and replace it because it is already 10 to 11 years old. Keep that battery charged up or it will die fast in cold temps.

Thats just me. New parts specially known to go out nothing wrong with getting new ones anyway.

Like on my ford ranger every 3 years the IAC valve goes out. It is a known item that constantly fails. And now it is starting to go out. Time for a new one.

Thanks for message, I’ll try that and let you know how I go... because I swapped my starter relay and nothing happened , I took out the starter motor and tested it with jumper leads to a battery and it worked fine with a new battery , I’m now going to swap a voltage regulator and see how I go.
Thanks for that .

So I swapped the regulators from my working yfz450r to the wrecked one and it still just clicks than keeps winding and it made a big back fire from the exhaust but still didn’t start then battery went dead again

Wrecked as in the yfz450r that’s struggling to start.... and yes it just cranks and cranks but doesn’t kick over than battery went back flat and now I charged it back up.... could it be the stator in side the engine that’s causing the problem or not really

Man wrecked I was thinking flipped and rolled over many times hit a tree head on collission.

Stator could be the issue. More work involved than a quick swap from quad to quad.

New oem stator go for it.
