Trail Tech XBars and XClamp

About Trail Tech:
One of the first things to come off of every stock quad are the handlebars! Not only do the stockers weigh a ton, but lets be honest, they simply look ugly. The only thing the stock YFZ450 handlebars had going for them was the nifty little cover that it came with. However, once you remove that piece, you understand why its there in the first place. In our quest to build the ultimate race quad, we had to turn to aftermarket. This is where Trail Tech comes in. Trail Tech has been building high quality products for quads and dirt bikes for sometime now. As soon as we saw their new bars, we put our order in!

Ordering:
Putting our order in was painless and easy. As soon as the deliveryman arrived, we rushed to the garage to put these puppies on! We ordered the XClamp as well as the beefy 1 1/8'' XBars. Trail Tech also offers the XBars in 7/8'' or 1 1/8'' which taper off to 7/8'' to fit stock components.

XClamp:
Now a little information on just exactly what a XClamp is. Trail Tech machines these from 6061-T6 aluminum and then polishes each piece to a mirror finish. All hardware is included to mount these as well. The XClamp also raises the bars by about 3/4 of an inch. Also available from Trail Tech is a logo to match your bike. As you can see from the pictures, the YFZ450 logo is also engraved (yes, not some cheesy sticker that falls off!) into the clamp. You also receive a new cover for that ugly steering stem as well! Thank You!!!

XBars:
The Trail Tech XBars are made from super strong heat-treated 7075 aluminum that also helps reduce vibration. We have managed to flip the YFZ450 a few times, and the bars held up flawlessly! No scratches, bending or anything! The bars are also available in low, high, and standard bends. The low bend is 1/2'' lower than stock bend, as where the high bend is 1/2'' higher than stock bend. The bars are also available in 4 colors: Highly polished, polished, titanium, and gold. We went with the polished look, which is heat-treated 7075 aluminum, as where the highly polished isn't. XBars are also available in 7/8'' and 1 1/8''. We recommend the 1 1/8'' for added strength!

Accessories:
Trail Tech also offers many different types of accessories for their clamps. They offer HID lights that sit on the clamp to help deliver MASSIVE amounts of light for those night time dune rides! Also available is a computer system, which gives you the current speed your bike is going. A neat little gadget to have and show off!

Installation:
Installation is as simple as can be. Take old parts off, put new parts on. We did however encounter one problem, which in honesty isn't a problem since lots of people get this. With the raised bars, as well as clamp, your stock cables are going to be stretched to their limits. To help fix this, you can either, 1.) Re-route the cables or 2.) Push the bars towards the front of the quad to help give more slack. We went with the second way, which fixes the problem. Also, put locktite on ALL the screws! We forgot to do this and one a long ride out in the desert, our bars almost came off. Not a good thing! Luckily we had some locktite to fix it right up!

Conclusion:
Trail Tech offers one of the best handle bar and clamp combos out there! Its also priced very well for what you get. As said above, we rolled our bike a few times and they came out UN harmed. Over all, there's nothing to complain about. It looks like a piece of artwork, and performs well! What more can you ask for?
