YFZ450 PROJECT VICIOUS TRACTION

CUSTOM STREETLEGAL SUPERMOTO ATV:

It all started back in 2005. At this time ATV had now become legal in the UK for road use and I had a small SMC RAM this was bought as a fun bike - this soon became boring and I was in need of some real power. So a good pal of mine (Knobby G) and I decided to search for something to fit this agenda. At this time and still today the YFZ isn't a road legal machine so we had come across an issue. The Ram ATV is already homologated for road use in the UK but only has 18 hp which as we had witnessed is lame if you want out and out power. So we set to work and eventually found a Dealer who could help and we finally after a struggle managed to get it SVA tested for road use!!! At last a Street Legal ATV with out and out power!! I already had in mind what I wanted to do. Everything I had seen was set up for MX but I was doing something different, Something Street!! Somthing PHAT LOW AND VERY WIDE!!! I wanted to design a look that was on a Super Bike / Streetfighter level so I set to work searching every angle for trick bits and ideas that would make my ATV something different, a new flex! I knew Street legal ATV was new and I really wanted to express this with my machine!! Most of my build parts have come from the USA as to be fair when it come to fabrication and styling USA is streaks ahead of us here in the UK. However some of my bikes stance has been influenced by some ideas I have seen in Germany and Denmark. This is where the SuperMoto look is derived from. I have spent allot of time building designing and thinking about my YFZ. Along side this I have had allot of help from friends around me.
