April 2004...Is that snow?

First, I want to thank you for the honor of having been selected as April's QOTM; I appreciate people noticing the hard work that has gone into my YFZ. Every day I notice more and more tricked out quads on the site and in many different areas of racing and recreation....this is a great time for our sport!

Before I decided on the YFZ, I had been the satisfied owner of a Cannondale Speed. I had just really gotten into quads a few years prior to owning the Cannondale and learned a lot about maintenance, etc during that stint. The YFZ was the next logical choice for me, it had so many similarities with the Dale; and also one major difference.....parts wouldn't be a challenge. I suppose that was the key reason for me selling the Dale, getting the YFZ; I was simply tired of working so hard to line up parts if and when the need arose.

From day one, the YFZ met my expectations; and still does. I was able to take it from the showroom right to the track for motos that day and could tell the potential was there. I am not a believer in the "race ready" claims, so modifications were sure to follow. I look at any quad I purchase as a platform, one that can be made better and tailored for the purpose one has in mind for it. I was talked into racing motocross 2 seasons ago, and while I consider myself a slow old man on the track; I have learned a lot and have fun doing it.

Below I have listed my modifications and snapped a few pictures.....JIM
