Default 3 Letter Words

I'm new here, but I'm a moderator on a forum I've been on for 9 years. On our site we have enabled certain 3 letter words for search. Words like...

GPS
FCI
Jet
Cam
Mod

etc, etc, I'm sure the long time users here could come up with a great list. As a noob, I know it's my responsibility to search. I just seem to be having trouble finding a lot of things.

YES! this is just what we need! You cant even search for "cam mod" and then we yell at people that start new topics about it, when they have no way of finding old threads!

and searching "camshaft modification" doesnt reveal anything, trust me, ive tried, lol

you can search "cam mod" because its over 3 characters...

people dont usually get mad about new topics other then "what pipe is best" or "i cant jet my quad" etc.

or the ever popular "my header is glowing"

most of the important threads are stickied anyway.

The entire phrase is over 3 characters yes but when searching "cam mod" the search excludes words with 3 letters or less. I've also had the same problem as a few of the other people.

Google is your friend... for example, search for "cam mod" site:yfzcentral.com and you'll find exactly what you're looking for.

I forgot they had that search field. This does pretty much the same thing as I described in my previous post, just easier!

not to mention you can remove the space on "cam mod" and search "cammod" and get tons of results too.

we shouldnt have to go to google to search for things on here..i agree it is a bit difficult searching on here..there is a lot of great info on here but like said before i do have to search thru google to find stuff on here
it would just be nicer to have a setup for the search bar

You need to go for search engine like Google, Yahoo etc and then search from them, over there you will find a lot results.

Look guys, the issue is that vbulletin isn't that smart. The search function searches for the string of characters in the database. It doesn't know acronyms.

The search is already set to a 3-character word minimum, but I too am getting "no results" when searching for the common terms listed above. Will have to look into this further.

It would be great if you could figure this out. As a NOOB I had a hard time with a few, like "CAM MOD" and "Zip Tie Mod". Ended up searching in google and getting redirected to central.
