I currently have both. The raptor is more comfortable and doesn't beat you up when your just cruising. The yfz jumps better and it easier to maneuver in tight sections. They are two different beast, raptor has loads of bottom end and the yfz likes to be revved to the moon. It's all personal preference.

I also have both 700 & 450R, And I ride both every time I go out. Both are excellent in the dunes & I have a ton of fun on both. As said above they are 2 different beast's. Each like & need to be ridin differently.

I have both machines as well and I prefer the Raptor. When I jump on the YFZ after riding the Raptor, the 450 feel's like a slug. You have to be on the pipe at all times, which is fine. Pretty harsh to say I know, but I have a sb/ss motor putting down over 71 hp and 50 tq. I do like the feel of the YFZ, but the suspension is harsh for stock. I've adjusted it since the last ride and haven't had a chance to test in the sand yet. I can jump my Raptor just as well as the R. Yes, it's definitely more top heavy, but I'm just used to the feel. It's all personal preference

if your a taller and or heavier guy, the raptor is more comfortable and has the lowend torque to get you moving. If your shorter/lighter the yfz is more agile and has plenty of power for you.

it just all depends on whether you want instant rapped out YFZ or a smooth over all powerband that just seems to never quit with the 700. Just depends on what you like.
I like my YFZ in the dunes, the only place i ride actually. I like the snappy power that comes with the yfz. Yeah you can make tons more power with a 700. All reality you can go on forever bout the pros and cons of each bike. LOL
