The "bog" is typically found on the fuel injected R/X models. A stock bike doesnt like quick stabs of the throttle at low rpm's. The hesitation felt is referd to as "the bog" . A good after market exhaust and programer will help with this.

The "bog" actually refers to the problem with the YFZ FCR carb model. When stabbing the throttle from idle or low rpm, there is a hesitation. It is caused because the accelerator pump squirts too much fuel at low rpm's, and until the engine rpm's spin up, the fuel is too much for the engine to handle for a moment.

ive found to help the bog was a trick i was shown rather than useing a ziptie use a o-ring hard to explain how to get an o-ring in there and get it to stay but you have to kind of twist it in a way but the o-ring allows for it to be smoother and seemed to be much more crisp using that than a ziptie just putting that out there if you have done a ziptie and feel like trying this i think in my opinion i like it more

Default The bog

I bought an 04 YFZ 450. love the quad but the bog sucks. If I gun it while sitting it stalls. The whole top end is new and properly broken in. I tried the zip tie trick and nothing. not sure of the jetting it has. I am used to 2-strokes. any more ideas? (new member Great group)!
thanks Jay

You got some wiring issues. Better check your harness for any cuts or damage. Check your connections really good as well make sure water hasnt got in, shorting any wires.
