Thanks in advance, Dave |

Twist throttles aren't as great on quads as people say. I mean they aren't bad but it still gets risky in hard cornering.

But if you really wanna run one you will probably have to run a YZ cable and throttle. Everything else should work.

I have bad carpal tunnel in both hands so i decided to put on a twister to alleviate thumb fatigue......i wrecked ASS first day riding with it. Sending that shit back and getting a honda throttle...
HEED these warnings, there is a reason quads all come with thumb throttles. |

I have been riding dirt bikes since I was 11, and prior to that I had an 80 quad with a twist throttle, so the twist throttle is a MUST for me
![]() I just want to do it right and use the OEM YZF throttle with the dual cables vs after market with the one cable... Dave |

Do I need to purchase both cables or can I use my current throttle cable and just purchase the one extra cable and throttle/housing off the YZF450? Thanks, Dave |

it all depends on the person as to the type of throttle you use, i have rode dirt bikes most of my life so im custom to the twist throttle. i just resently bought a 05 yfz 450 off a friend and put a twist on it.. if you do get one just go to your local dealer and ask for a motion pro twist throttle and cable for your yfz. keep your thumb throttle around so if you dont like the twist you can always put the thumb back on

There's no warnings to heed really, you'll find out right away what works best for you and stick with it. I've done just as much stupid stuff while worn out with a thumb throttle. I end up not even being able to use my right hand during a race with thumb throttle, getting so tired. Twist throttle I could instantly have the power on and off and don't get nearly as fatigued. I'm talking about 2 hour hare scrambles. It's all mental saying it's dangerous, a quad is dangerous period.

I give credit to the guys who can ride with a twist throttle...I attempted it for about a month and switched back. I would love to have made it work since my thumb hurts so bad after a 1 hr:45 min endurance race!
