i just wrapped mine 2 weeks ago and it makes a big difference. The engine doesnt get as hot and neither does your leg. I used a 2 inch dei 50 feet and got some clamps. i also painted the wrap with some clear heat proof paint. when you go wrap it tho make sure you soak it and start from the front to the back so the wind and dirt wont pull it off.

I havn't done mine yet but i'm going to. I can't see in anyway how it could be bad. Just look how many drag cars have the headers wrapped. There must be some good to it, plus it will save your leg and your riding pants when you touch it. I've lost a few nice pants to exposed head pipes over the years.

In the sportbike community where I'm from I've heard that you should never heat wrap a titanium header/pipe cause it supposidly keeps heat and moisture trapped against the titanium and breaks it down never seen it myself but just something I heard

Mythbusters would be good lol they could also test the "never run full synthetic Motor oil in your sportbikes, quads dirtbikes etc cause it ruins the clutch or the gear gnashing of the gears breaks it down and frothes it.." lol

Lots of discussion on the net about wrapping pipes both pro & con.
Will it increase an power? No. If no hp increase, why do people still do it? To keep from burning your leg. Will it mess up your pipe? Only if you don't run it after washing to dry it out. Even then a bit of elbow grease and emerycloth cleans stainless/titanium pipes back to new. Will it cause the pipe to fail, (crack/break)? Only if you don't keep tight, even overlap wraps during install. Wetting the wrap helps this process. And you're not tuned to lean. I agree to use hose clamps rather than the SS tie wraps. They stay better. I wrapped from front to rear. The idea being while moving forward you have less tendancy to work dirt and crap under the edges of the wrap. Its also easier to wrap the step ups on the pipe. I added the guard to keep from rubbing the wrap.
