Great Job, I think I will some up after work. Many a time have I caught my jeans on fire while out in the dunes, or melted my riding pants....

white wrap turns into a silverish color and black turns greyish white color. I prefer white/grey not black but it is paintable with the heat wrap paint.

That pic is after a few dune trips. Still looks just as it does in the pic right now.

And if you really want it black just hit with a coat of header paint!

Just a idea, after you wrap it, you can paint it with high temp paint. Thats what I did with my stock header. One race on it thou......... but still looks good after a good washing.

Everytime I wrapped my header on my 06 my cans have blown apart. I have owned I think 5 pipes already and haven't heat treated the one I am on. I had a cheap DG no big deal, Yoshimura that I blew apart, BUB that blew apart, a ESR that lasted only due to my wheeler blew up and know I am on a Jardine that I haven't heat treated

Went to the local drag racing store got header wrap meant for drag cars and used hose clamps to hold it on the head pipe works great really cuts down on the heat.

Here's a picture of mine and the stuff I used, kind of old picture. Also a good tip my father gave me was to use Muffler patch tape instead of hose clamps. it is a red tape and when it heats up will hold the ends of the wrap together like its glued. Looks alot nicer than a bunch of hose clamps imo. I think the wrap helps alot, especially with my 480cc Athena Helps with the burning leg too.

I am sure there are many different kinds, but I know this DEI stuff has a good name and holds up very well. That wrap has been on my new fmf header for about 4 months and still going strong.
