Default K&N vs imitators

Has anyone bought one of these imitators? Do they protect/preform hp increase as well as K&N? Just bought a filter kit on ebay thinking i was getting a good deal. Part hasent arrived yet but after looking harder at the description i found out its not really a K&N

alot of guys dont like the K&N filter, they say it lets too much crap by, i never had issues with my setup, but i did switch to a pro design dual stage foam filter just incase, i race XC so dust is usually really bad in many races.

i wouldnt worry too much about the filter, wait till you get it, and see what brand and ply it actually is.

if it turns out to be junk, ill make you a helova deal on a used K&N.

Ive noticed that a lot of ppl don't like K&N on here, but most the ppl i ride with use K&N with filter covers. They have used them for a long time and havent had any problems. Thanks for the offer.

I don't have a K&N filter, however I run a GYT-R paper filter and an outwears prefilter. Love my setup, wouldn't trade if for anything honestly. But of course everyone thinks their stuff is the best!

Outerwears not only makes the pre-filters you need, but they have really good prices on K&N filters too. Their pre-filters are also water-repellant. I've used that combo in my racing for years with success.

The Fuel Customs filter is better than K&N, it is 8 ply, K&N is only 4 ply. And besides that, it is the best performing intake on the market, dyno results don't lie. I agree with many professional race teams that run a foam type filter for dusty conditions but say a K&N type filter is ok for sand dunes.

I use K&N + Outerwears on my FCI intake system. More air flow=more hp.
I drag race sand & dirt tracks. In dust I'd run foam.

our filters will flow as much as a K&N and protect better. K&N are more money also.

These filters have plenty of flow, our filters flow enough for twin turbo small block chevy's. Raceya send me a fliter and I will put it on a flow bench and show yeah.
