I've never run a gytr because there's so many that out-dyno it for racing. DASA for one. My engine builder dyno'd a long list of pipes before we went with DASA as a sponsor. Hope that helps.

I personally run it on my 06 with no lid and dyno tuned with GYT-R paper filter. I really really like the sound and power, its loud however, too loud for most trails which I normally ride. My cousin on an LT-R450 can hear me well over his yoshi when I'm way in front of him even. But its a good looking, nice sounding pipe. Just keep it down are people and you should be good. DNR hasn't stopped me, but they've only seen me when I'm behaving

thanks guys actualy the DASA is the main one that I have been looking at but I dont know if my Yamaha shop would install parts that are not GYTR I have been planning on getting the GYTR Race pipe, GYTR filter set up, A GYTR 13.2 to1 piston and the MSD Blaster controler because they deal with them all But I would really like to have This kit from KB Motorsports

YFZ450R Dasa Racing Full Exhaust Package

The only thing I dont like about the kit is it comes with the PC 5 With auto tune instead of the MSD. and from what I hear the MSD is a better box. Also I have read on this forum that you have to repack the DASA all the time and Ive read some stuff about them falling apart? I dont know I just like how they look and the fact that they make good power. Does anyone know how much power and where at in the rpm range I would give up with the GYTR over the DASA? I mean is there really that big of a difference?

been running a full gytr pipe on my R. Decent gains and not overly loud. DRD makes them for the R so you know its quality built

i just switched from the gytr system to the dasa. the gytr has a better sound. im refering to the tone not the db. the dasa is alittle louder. as fas as power..i had the gytr dyno tuned perfect so it made good power. i just put the dasa on and havent had a chance to dyno tune it and i know thats holding it back somewhat. but from the butt dyno they seem the same in low end power then the dasa picks up aliitle better from then on. as i said after i tune the dasa i can give a better comparison. as far as packing and breaking..i think the problems were on the older dasa pipes with rivets, this one has bolts. and packing..nothing seems to stay packed for me unless i use moose string packing.hope that helps. also if you want a good deal on a gytr il sell you mine extremely cheap.

Running the gytr on mine, I would have to agree on what some of the other guys said as far as it being loud. A few late night rides and I have had buddies that live over a mile away call me and ask me why im riding my quad at 2am lol

I have it on the 05 i just got this weekend and i thinks its awesome. Plenty of power and souunds awesome. I like it its loud and you can hear it from very far away. Well it has the spark arrestor taken out but i know its still loud when its on. I want to put the spark arrestor back in but idk how i bought it like that and he gave me the arrestor and said i could put it back on whenever i wanted but the arrestor wont fit through the hole. (Yes i know im a noob at this stuff, im still learning)

I'm running a GYTR on my 06. I can't complain at all. I felt a definite power gain when I put it on. I have nothing to compare it too as this is the only exhaust I've had, but from what I've experienced I have nothing but good things to say about it. Like others...it is loud, but not annoying.

I agree it is loud. For what it is worth anyone thinking of buying just the pipe and hoping to get by with out a tuner, it won't happen. Mine leaned way out...

i enjoy my GTYR slip on good sounds not to loud or quite. I just recently put on a FMF powerbomb header and that really woke up the quad. Just make sure when you get all your exhaust stuff done have your carb adjusted to run a little richer.
