Default Fci=awesome!

Just finished installing my fci and what a difference it made! I havent fooled with the jetting yet (bad weather) but it seemed pretty close from what little bit i was able to ride. Definitely worth the $$$!

Good to hear that the intake is worth the money and time of day.

How come no one mentions that the transition ring is a very poor fit and different diameter than the carb. Not to mention that the plastic intake is a sad product next to the factory piece. Also the bracket allows the filter to vibrate and rub on plastic intake.
Yea, I could go on and on but......

ring fits perfect and its the same size as the carb bore. its hasnt changed sense we started making these things in 2005. Actaully the yfz trans rings presses in for nice tight fit. Sad piece next to the factory part, thats a first. Our intake doesnt allow for heat soke and it flows better and makes more power with more over rev better than the stock unit. As for the vibrating you probably didnt install right. sorry my friend....

Well, it seems a lot of people are watching the FCI buzz? To clarify the facts. 1st , this is not my first rodeo nor did I purchase the intake without reading lots of comments online, also dirt wheels mag. Fact #1 the transition ring varied in it's outer diameter from my stock carb. 2nd the diameter of the intake plenum is about 7/16 smaller than the bracket supplied. Thus, when centered the bracket does not make contact. But after some laps you can see where things are touching. All I'm saying is that the FCI intake is not as bad ass as everybody says it is.

I don't know its hard to say that the fci is not bad ass by the amount of power it has added to my yfz!

That transition rings picks up 12 cfm. We test everything. So we know it works. Yes the tube is smaller. You are supposed to push the filter through the bracket also. There should be a slight gap that you want because if it was tight you would see a lot of brackets breaking. I bet you never pushed the filter all the way through.

Then pull off your FCI and sell it and use your stock intake see how well you do then

i have an fci, the intake could be a more solid, no question. i dont know how or why anyone would run one of these w/o the air box still in. filter-carb needs to be worked on (including the ring).

you also installed yours incorrectly. When correctly installed the intake setup is just as solid if not more as the oem airbox assembly. It also makes more power out of the box than any other intake made for the yfz. If you guys don't like it, sell it and let someone else go fast

Exactly! This is the fci=awesome thread....not the "I don't know how to correctly install it thread"

I cleaned and oiled my gytr filter after every 4-5 hours on the bike (same concept, gauze filter). Oil makes don't matter too much though, some people use the K&N standart cleaning kit. I like Maxxima, or something like that. Basicaly the thicker oil is, the better. Oh and you are a lucky bastard, I ordered mine on monday, and it still hasn't made it =(

The only thing i had a problem with is the ring. When i put my intake on and the ring in the carb. it wasn't a tight fit. it was loose, so out came the j b weld and problem solved

I love the intake and im not bashing on it. Please dont take it that i am.
