It's not my intake, I had no hand in building it. However i do run it and it's a fact that the statements you made in your original post are not true. Mine is installed correctly and it is just as solid as the oem setup. I have however ran into countless numbers of idiots who can't read the instructions and installed the intake wrong, leaving it unstable.

Wont really know how good the FCI is (by itself), but i did get/am getting a LRD PRO4R full exhaust, FCI, cam mod, carb bore/jet/tune done all at the same time. Shops had my bike for almost a month know, just waiting for that phone call to pick it up. I hope it comes back a better bike! :)

the FCI is awesome and worth the money, i just rode in some very dusty weather and the intake is clean the outerwear took most of the abuse but a little cleaning and it looks like it was new way better than my k and n setup it had when i bought the bike!

I know right. Just got mine 2 weeks ago, and still trying to figure out, how do you have to mount it, in order for it to be loose. Mine is tight as hell. The only thing I dislike, is that now I have to unbolt my air box, every time I clean the filter. But that is a price worth paying for it.

I bought mine used, and was under the impression I could just hook it to the carb without anything holding it up.

Yeah, I too, had the K&N setup and probably put 10 hours on it if that, and i does not even compare to the fci in quality and the amount of power it created. Honestly, I don't even think that I really noticed a difference in power with the K&N. By adding the FCI, my yfz feels like a totally different bike! (In a very good way). By the way defiantly going to be purchasing a fci whenever I buy the R/X in the future.

My air box is still intact, so when I do that, and pull the filter back, it pushes against the air box, and I still have about 1/4 inch sitting on the intake boot. I could bend it a little, so I wouldn't have to unbolt the box every time, but I would rather just take a couple of extra minutes.

FCI for XC riders!!!!
i see both sides and after using my brain i moved to the LOVE side... my problem was it was a pain in the ass to get the filter on while oiled.. and it kept popping off.. and thirdly the gap between the air box and intake let way too much water/mud in.... FIX: i took 6 inch rubber square i found in Lowes. set my intake and carved out a hole perfect size... then using the existing rivet holes used some bolts and wing nuts to keep it down then seal with silicone... now the intake puches thru like a condom... with the K&N power lid i can take water over the seat full blast passing everyone in the creeks not to mention the thing sounds like you have a turbo charger on ur quad... LOVE IT JUST USE YOUR BRAIN AND MAKE YOUR OWN MODS.... |

FCI is top notch i didnt even read the instructions to install it thats how simple it is and if you can figure it out with instructions then i suggest selling your quad cause, well your an idiot, if you have a honda carb like i do its going to need some changes to the ring but on a stock carb its 100% perfect
