Default Chain stuck by the front sprocket.

I was riding the other day and something hit my chain off of my rear sprocket which made the chain get lodged up behing the front sprocket between the chain guard and the front sprocket. The quad will only go into neutral, and will not go into gear. I need to know how to get the front sprocket off so i can get the chain unstuck. Help please.

Are you saying its wadded up between the sprocke and swinger? If that's the case, your only hope is to take the swing arm loose.

I have had mine wadded up between the front sprocket and the swingarm guard. I used a long breaker bar against the bottom of the swing arm and the lower portion of the chain. Pried downward and it eventually came out. Chain was fine, but the swing arm guard was trashed.

Might have to use a 2x4 against the swing arm to get a better leverage angle.

OR put your foot on the lower part of the chain and jump... That's worked too.

I got mine stick in between my sprocket and swinger once. I took the air box out I think and mabey removed the rear plastics. Then I took a 2 or 3 foot bar and pressed it on the top side of my chain where it was bound. Once I could get a good swing on it I drove the bar down against the top side of the bind. After a few good wacks I got it unbound. I replaced my chain once I had it lose cuz of all the pressure on it.

I just fixed the exact same problem at an arenacross race on an R for a guy this weekend. I would try to stay away from prying on things, but it depends on how badly it is wedged in there. You can remove the front countershaft sprocket, and that can fix it, or if it is really bad, just pull the swingarm bolt out. That is the safest method.
