Default YFZ 450 valve replace

I got a 05 YFZ 450 and the piston hit the valve. (again) I was wondering can i just replace just the one valve that is damaged or do i gotta replace them all as a set? Also is it that difficult to replace valves?

You can replace the damaged one only.No need to fix it if its not broke.

be careful, you might have a bent rod. after slamming the piston into the valves. with the piston at tdc ,does it look like it set's uneven in the bore. (higher on one side than the other.)

First off why did the piston hit the valve. second yes you can just replace the one, but you need to take the head and when you but the new valve in turn the head upside down with the plug in it and fill the chamber with water. Give it at least 10 min and make sure none of the water is missing or leaked out by a valve. If it does you have other bent valves and need to remove all and check them. And the best way to installl the keepers is to take a 13mm deep crome socket and grind out half of the side about 3mm from the face that goes on the bolt. You can now use the socket to plung down on the spring and use the open side to make sure the keepers full seat..

Yea you should probably figure out why the piston keeps hitting the valve.

Its not too hard to replace the valves. I would invest in a valve spring compressor. Plus when removing the lifters be sure to mark which valve each specific lifter goes to and the shim the goes with it!!
