Ive been wanting to upgrade to precisions anti vibe mounts for awhile. Heard a lot of good things ab them. But after bending my stock stem for the 2nd time, and the bearings are going out, I really need a stem. Plus, im 6'3"...
Im wondering how well Houser antivibe mounts work? I can buy a +1 or +2 stem and their mounts for 300$ off motosports. If their antivibe system works close to as good as precisions, then thatd b best for me. Ya, u get what u pay for, so im sure 230$ clamps would be best, but money is tight.... ![]() Or get an 06 or up stem (mine is a 05) which will raise it close to an inch right? and the precisions anti vibe clamps would add 1.25", and id spend around 300$ for that as well... Dang this sport is expensive!!!!! lol

I have precision clamps on my bike and they are nice. But since you need a stem anyway id say get the antivibe stem. Im only 5'10" and I rode my buddies bike the other day with a +2 and thought it was very comfortable. The precision clamps only add about 1/2 inch by the way. You could always add the precision clamps to the antivibe stem down the line if you feel you need/want it.

I'm with rubberneck. Go ahead and get the anitvibe stem now, then add the precision clamps later. The precision clamps work a little different than the antivibe stem. Running both would be ideal.

I'm 6'6 and run an ars/fx +1 stem with the precision clamps and find it extremely comfortable. However, if you go any taller, you'll have to get new cables. As it is now, I had to tilt my bars forward a bit so the lines weren't tight.
I'm pretty sure you'll have to upgrade your clamps if you go to an anti vibe stem anyways, so you might as well get the Precision clamps now. Its one of those purchases that you don't have any regrets about, especially after the first ride on them. |

This is a really dumb question, but on Houser setup, is the antivibe part in the stem or in the clamps?
Here is what ive been looking at: Houser Steering Stem With Bar Mounts | MotoSport If the anti vibe part is in the stem, ill get just the stem and use some cheap clamps, and then in the future buy precision. Think that would be smart? I dont know much ab these stems...... lol Thanx everybody!

Those will definitely work for you. The anti-vibe is part of the stem, but it comes with bar clamps. Just make sure you order according to the size of your bars. No need to purchase anything more.
Down the road, when you decide to get Precision clamps (which you inevitably will), order clamps for an anti-vibe stem. |

Thanx for the replies!
I def want to get the precision clamps, but more then likely itll have to wait. just paid for tuition, books, GF bday stuff, dads bday is in a week, the dreaded valentines day..... blah blah blah lol so money is tight at the moment. If I were to get this houser stem now, can i run ab any clamps on it, or just their 80$ clamps or what? Also, if i got a +2 stem now, would the stock cables reach? (its an 05). I know when i put the precisions on ill need to, but $$$ is just tight at the moment.... Really appreciate all the info!

You MIGHT be able to get away with not getting the longer cables, but more than likely you will have to. I'm at +1 3/4( ish) and it has barely has enough slack You really don't want a taut throttle cable, go through a tight turn and its possible for it to give you more throttle than you need and send you on a flying lesson.

Also consider this, if you buy a +2 stem now and intend on purchasing the Precsion clamps later, you'll end up with about 2.5" overall. The precision clamps add about .5". As to your question about the clamps, you'll need to run a set of anti vibe clamps.

Dont believe ive rode a quad thats +2.5, but i think id like it. rode one with a +1 n precision, n really like it (so did my lower back.... lol)
Rockymtn carries Motion Pro cables. whats yalls opinion on those? If theyre no good, whats a medium priced throttle n clutch cable?

You will def need cables to be safe if your going up at all. Call Jeff @ redline Honda 7244341196 mention gun town racing and he will hook you up. Houser stem with their clamp and flexx bars would be your best bet IMO. They are a dealer for houser/precision/flexx btw!

Looks like ill be buying a stock stem off an 06 n up because its cheap and a +1 compared to my 05 right?
Hopefully in a couple months i can get an anti vibe stem, precision, n + cables instead of buying the av stem and normall 80$ clamps now, and then precision a little after that.... Money is just to tight at the moment. Thanx to everybody that helped out! Its really awesome to have questions and get answers by guys that have been there...
