Default Shock Adjustment?

I seem to be finding the bottom of my shocks pretty regularly and its for sure not because I'm riding hard.

Am I better off adding preload or increasing compression? or both?
I figure I likely just need to keep my front wheels a little higher also.

vid for reference, small jumps and amateur rider, don't be too critical.

i think preload is just for ride height, so you should adjust your compression.
