Default Swingarm geometry

Alright so I had a JB swingarm and they use the 250r style geometry for the carrier. But my quad got stolen and the police didn't recover the swingarm, just the carrier and axle. So my question is: what companies do the same thing with the 250r geometry for the carrier besides JB? Cause JB gets pretty expensive and not looking to drop like 300 on a used swingarm so I was just wondering if there's any other companies out there that use the same style!!?! Or if a 250r swingarm would mount to the frame cause my cousin has an extra 250r swingarm laying around. So please let me know what you know and we will try out the 250r swingarm just in case and let you know of that works too. Thanks!!

the swingers will be different. i think what JB is trying to say is that they make the carrier round like the '06+ yfz's. the 04-05 ones had bolts that slide the carrier back and forth. every one that i know of that build aftermarket swingers uses the round stile carrier. all you have to watch for is if it is 04-05 or 06+ since the carriers are different sizes and lengths. i thing the 04-05 is 87mm and the 06+ is 90mm. also the brake setup is different between the 2

The original JB swingarms were made to use a 250R axle and carriers. Honestly they were very primative and heavy. I would suggest just selling the 250R parts and doing the 06-up swingarm swap.

Your other option is to search ebay for an old JB swingarm.

So if I were to get a 06 swinger it wouldn't fit? Cause they both are the round housing carriers

Oh alright....so maybe that JB swingarm I had was actually a 250r swingarm and it fits? Idk I'll have my cousin bring over his extra 250r swingarm once my frame gets here! I'll let you know

no a 250r swinger won't fit..
most aftermarket swingarms use 87mm round house 250r "style" carrier

I dont know anything about mx racing or whatever u do, but I'd think anyone who builds custom swingarms should be able to put what ever carrier housing you want on it.?

Houser used to make a 250r style swinger for the 04-05. By buddy had it, but I do not remember all the details to it. You could always give them a shout and see if they still make it and or replacement parts.

They might have one discounted. I've seen some older Z400 stuff for half price on their website. Worth a shot. Lost Creek Cycles used to sponsor a bunch of Yamaha guys in the mid 2000s, too. I'd call some shops: K&K, East coast ATV, Bill Balance, North Ridge Yamaha (talk to Joe). Just some thoughts or phone calls.
