I am gathering up some pipes purchased with my own money to one day do a pipe dyno session on MY QUAD.

This is what I have so far.

RW (reg)
Yoshi TRS full
Nmotion 9" new style end cap

Might borrow a friends reg core Sparks, and another guys HMF.

I hope to get a Rossier as well. I will know in a few days (hopefully)

I know ESR is on the wish list for some of you tongue.gif

Any others pipes? Any one have a spare pipe to donate for testing then mailed back?

I am sure that by the time dyno testing happens my quad will be sporting it's new +4" T-Dub and newer gearing so this will not be a test against all my previous tests. Just a FYI test. Same day, corrected jetting etc.

Any thoughts or opinions?

I have been offered to test a RW pug and a BC Shorty Sparks too, I have a Rossier to be donated too, as well as a LRD, maybe Trinity (not sure I want to bother). I have placed some info in Coreys lap about testing the GYTR/DASA pipe. We will see what happens. I really want to test that pipe, just don't want to buy a "new" pipe. Heck I already bought a Nmotion and Yoshi, aside from my current reg RW. Testing will be around mid/ late January.

I think you should do a duncan pipe. Its the only pipe I have experience with. Sadly I no longer have the pipe and everything attached to it (yfz), otherwise I'd donate it to you.

I would like to see the differance in the RW reg, RW pug, and the Nmotion. I would also like to see the differance in a RW reg w/o packing compared to packed right. I have a RW reg without any packing you can use.

Edit... I would also like to see the storm this starts........lol

Well I have my reg RW that might need packing... not sure I am always to busy fixing it (stupid pipe) I will get my grubs on a pug, and I already have a Nmotion on it's way to me So that test will be for sure

Shouldn't be to much drama as no "builders" are involved. I will actually be looking for the pipe that gains the most through out the whole curve not just at peak. However I know I will have a drag pipe contest in this somewhere. It would be nice to see which pipe , with MY motor combo makes the best curve, and which pipe for drag racing only.

Still have not heard anything back from the new GYTR seller We shall see.

Added to the list of pipes for testing:

M4
maybe a GP pipe (?)
Jardine full cut down to a shorty (I have seen this pipe and the quad and they combined are fast)
I will have a Rossier no matter what. I have one on stand by to be donated for the test.

Just one more bit of info. I am not in the market to pay for shipping of pipes to me. I will be having to pay for the shipping back to the owner and at $9-$25 a pipe x 8 -10 pipes so if anyone wants their pipe tested but wants me to pay for the shipping they can keep it.

Well I have heard packing is important that without packing it will create turbulence in the exhaust and make you lose hp and tq. That’s why I say packed and unpacked.

Yes you are correct. I have heard that a pipe in need of packing will produce less HP then a freshly packed pipe.

Stock pipe with spark arrestor pulled. Would like to see how this stacks up to the aftermarket.

I would like to see the major players you have listed. Im also verry interested in the new GYT-R "wonder" pipe. Baseline with a stocker and then remove the spark arrestor would be cool too. I know we wont get any BS from you and your testing so this should be great. If your guy with the Rossier backs out, I have mine I could send in for the dyno test.(just repacked)

I might do a stock pipe test. I may not though. I say this because it would be cool to test it, I have mine still, but the jetting requirements for the stock pipe and all my mods in my sig may take along time to figure out even with the dyno and A/F.

ugotbit:

I will remember your offer. Thanks

Some folks at tech wanted to donate some money for dyno time so I posted that if they chose to send some cash to do so via my pay-pal account with their screen name and what it was for. If anyone here wanted to do the same (not asking) here is my pay-pal address: tersejr@yahoo.com

I am tinatively looking to test around the 8th - 16th of January. Depending on a 50* temp window and not snowing This is after all Colorado

maybe a modded stock pipe that is "free flowing" like a aftermarket pipe. with the inside baffle out that would be cool if it did better than others.
