so i have noticed in the last 3 months ive owned my quad since brand new the 12 carb version the fan rarely runs. i mean the overheat light never comes on and i no it works cuz it lights when i hit the start button, but i can leave it idling for 10 mins and no fan. its only ever come on 5 times that i know of. does it just run cool. how can i make sure it works? thanks

Mine rarely comes on as well. If it's not overheating I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Mine only comes on when I'm riding with the wife. Even when it's hot as hell, as long as I'm moving pretty fast.

i am not 100% on this but i think that the fan on the newer models kicks on at 212.... if you are really worried about it get one of the heat range stickers and slap it on the jug... or get an inline temp gauge. i believe this is how they get the quads to pass emissions.
