Default valves

Am I gonna hurt the engine if I ride with the valves out of adjustment?

I have a 05 yfz 450, I just got the thing and am new to quads. I imagine the valves need adjusting, but dont have the time or the courage to tear into this thing yet.

I still want to ride it, but dont want to hurt it.

Also, where is a good place to get a service manual?

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend it. Here is link to a manual. YFZ450 Garage. Its not that hard to do. I taught my self how to do it. And if you get stuck you can come here for help.

its not that bad to ride it. if there out of speck, it might be hard to start if it get warm. i would check them. its east to do with a feeler gauge and all you have to do is put the motor at TDC. if there off, have them re-shimed
