Default predator carb issues

i bought a predator for a couple hundred bucks for a trail beater. i replaced the whole topend and cleaned the carb. I got it all back together this morning and the thing will only start and run while full choke. if i let off the choke it screams bloody murder. back on the chock it settles down a little bit. I took everything off before i let it soak in the cleaner. all jets are clean. It ran before just blew alot of smoke. smoke is gone now just have carb troubles. Any input would be nice. thanks guys

the guys i know who run the predator switched over to the fcr carb. solved a lot of tuning troubles. he has a 560 big bore and he ran the 40mm fcr from the stock 06 trx450r. he tried a "big" carb on it like 44mm and lost hp all the way. so i'd say the 39mm or 40mm fcr would be fine. the one you're working with can be very finicky as i understand.

Ok found the air leak now it has a new problem. I have an extra carb i can throw on it, but i really wanna try and figure this out. Right now its popping and acting like its hitting the rev limiter after half throttle. Every gear. Ive torn this thing down 3 times now and can not find any blockage, the floats are set perfect. Im thinking its electrical now. Maybe the cdi is shot?

my buddies predator did the same thing till we rejetted it.

seriouslly id put a yfz carb on it, it will be a whole diffrent quad. yours dosent really work very good till it builds vac, when u stab it at a idle it really dosent open all the way till it gets some rpms.

The best carb (cheapest way) is using the 04 and 05 42mm TRX450R stock Carbs, 45 pilot jet, 178 main jet. Oh and get rid of that crappy fuel pump that Polaris uses and find a Yamaha Banshee fuel pingal, it fits perfect.

if it seems like its hitting a rev limiter see if its running rich and check your stator and rectifier as well that fixed my power issues
