I'm just getting into MX my first race is in a month. I was wondering if it's okay to run a 9x8 beadlock wheel in the back with 18x10-9 and on the front 10x5 wheel with 20x6-10???? Please respond, any suggestions will help.
I mostly trail ride and but do go to different local tracks and run a few local races here and there and I have 10" fronts w/ 20" tires and the backs I have 10" hypers w/18" tires
Most people will run 18" rears on 8" rims and 20" fronts on 10" rims. I prefer to run 21" fronts on 10" rims, and 19" rears on 9" rims. I like the little bit of extra clearance and I don't ride strictly MX.
on my 06 yfz i ran 20x6x10 fronts and 18x10x9 on the rear, But when I put mx racing wheels and tires on my yfzr it will be 20x6x10 fronts and 18x10x8 rears
Generally you'll find a better selection of mx tires that fit an 8" rim. But if you have a 9" rim is see no problem running them. Especially since its your first year mx. And the front 20's on a 10" rim is standard.
