Default 2012 rebuild

Finally getting parts in for the 2012 rebuild! A bunch of more parts will be arriving this week and next. I planned on sending my motor out to MMAD for a complete 465 build, but the cost of all the parts I ordered are going to prevent that until May. So I will just be bolting on the 465 cylinder and a new piston until I can send my head and TB out. Anyhow, a bunch of parts showed up today so I figured I would start posting my progress. I'm still debating on sending the frame down for a powder coat or anadizing it instead. I sent my Fox Floats out for the Kasima upgrade so I'm waiting on them to come back as well. I'll post up pics as the parts come in, its going to be like christmas around here for the next few weeks!

As it sits now

New parts!

Still waiting on:
Red Streamline brake lines, ft/bk and billet clamps
Front GNCC tires
Trail Tech Vapor
Lone star billet rear hubs, and billet sprocket hub
New chromoly JL Engineering swinger
465 MMAD cylinder and piston
New powder and anadizing
Front shocks with Kashima upgrade

Thanks man, I know it doesn't look like it, but I ride the hell out of her! I see that your running PRM skidplates. How do you like them and how do they fit and look?

Fitment is perfect. I got the Z plate for my swingarm. It comes all the way up and covers the shock mount. A must have if you do any rocky trail riding. It comes with 7mm bolts and they say to drill and re-tap the holes on the swing-arm but I didn't feel like doing all that. I just reused the stock hardware and loc-tited the hell out of them and haven't had a problem. It's well worth the hundred bucks.

You must be single, or you have one hellva wife. With that nice of a bike, I might need you to stay and race MOC and stay away from Iowa series lol. Just kidding, would like to get together sometime and ride. I'm over in Trenton. But I must let you know, I have a wife, so my ride is not as nice.

Hahah, thanks for the compliments, I work hard at keeping it looking and running nice. I replace stuff alot more often than needed. I'm not single, I'm married. The trick is to get your wife into it. Since both of my little ones ride, I got her a Z400 to come out with us. Now shes really into it and wanting me to start dressing her bike up. Of course, Slo Ride comes first! Hahaha I'll keep this updated as I actually get something done to it. Right now its just a pile of parts. I was just anxious to start my 2012 thread since everyone else was! 04bluyfz, looking forward to you and your buddies coming up to ride this year!

New front GNCC tires showed up today! Streamline brake cables should be shipping out soon. After talking with Streamline on the phone this morning, I really like the company so far. I had him custom cut me some lines, so they would fit exactly like I picture them going on the bike. An interesting thing came up though. My arms are 7/8 rather than the normal 3/4 or 1". Does anyone know where I can get 7/8" clamps?

Nice can't wait to see it all done and with those kashima evols. I see an all balls package, what bearings are you replacing. Trying to think of what to replace on mine since it's apart too.

The bearings are for my new swing arm. John at JL Engineering is currently building me another swinger. The one on my bike is his first proto type for the new efi bikes. He built me that one to test out for him. That one was built out of mild steel wheras the new one is being built out of chromoly. It should be done sometime this week. As far as the Kashima upgrade goes, I sent Fox an email about the rear podium upgrade and they have yet to get back to me. I'll keep ya posted on that deal. If they offer the upgrade for the rear, I'm going to send it out to have it done. Also, the hotcams box is just a stock 06 intake cam that I bought off of another member. He sent it in the hotcams box.

Got another pile of parts in, but FOX just called and they said that its going to be a few more weeks until my Kashima upgrade is done. They said that they ran out of 5" resivoirs and wont get anymore till the first or second week of Febuary. Kinda pisses me off, as I called ahead and got the run around from the girl that answers the phone and they were very slow at returning emails or phone calls. Also, to those of you who wondered about the rear Fox Podium Kashima upgrade, as of this time there isn't one available. He said its a possibility to have the upgrade for the rear in the future, but none as of now.

When I ordered my Fox Suspension 3 months ago, I called and asked about the Kashima upgrade and the guy flat out told me that they had "ALL the parts necessary to do the upgrade" 2 weeks after I placed the order the guy told me they didn't have all the parts in and it would be another 3 weeks or so???

Dude get out why you can unless you want to have your quad sitting around for a month, they kept giving me the run around so I cancelled the upgrade

I appreciate the heads up. I'm going to wait it out though. The weather is kinda shitty around here and I've still got alot to do to my bike. Stripping it down to the frame this weekend for some new powder. He said they would have the Kashima parts in by the middle of feb, so they have till march to my shocks done and shipped.

They are stock bars on the R/X. I'm not sure what bend they are?

Here is the progress so far. You want to talk about a complicated bastard. UGH! I hope like hell I didn't bite off more than I can chew. Anyways, I'm going to powder the frame a little different color red. Do you guys think I should powder the subframe red as well, or leave it black? Thoughts?
