switched to team yamaha

Well after having a Ltz 400 and TRX 450 I decided to try out the yfz 450. I picked up this 05 a couple months ago and decided to put a HMF slip on on it and I couldn't get jetted just right so I took it to a local power sports shop and they're rebuilding the carb and a couple other things plus new tires.

In the mean time while the yfz has been in the shop the past couple weeks(yes, I am beyond pissed it's taken this long) I've been feeling the mod bug so I've ordered tons of stuff for it.

Maier carbon fiber plastics (pictures of the new shiney plastics are attached)
Powermadd hand guards
alba grab bar
hmf headlight deletes
pep shock covers
pep steering stabilizer
new seat cover
and a couple other maintenance things

still trying to decide if i want my stock shocks rebuilt or order a set of elka stage 3's.

If you guys have any suggestions on a must have mod let me hear em! I mostly ride trails.

Welcome, I really like the carbon fiber! You gotta get one of Kilroy's custom carbon fiber airboxes when he releases them.

Being an 05, if it has not already been done, do the oil mod / upgrade. The 04-06's don't have the oil squirter or the higher volume oil pump that was introduced in 07 so they are known for a lack of oil getting to the wrist pin and causing substantial engine damage. Do a search for "oil mod" or "oil upgrade" and you'll find tons of posts about the issue.

Out for 2011......can't wait to get back at it in 2012!!!

However, if it's THAT modded I'm sure somebody would've done the oil mod. I'd call the guy you bought it from just to be sure.[thumbsup]

Thanks for the input guys, I'll have to check it out. Right now I'm having issues with it cutting out in the higher rpm's so i'm just trying to get this figured out before I do anything else.
