Was wondering what type and wt. of engine oil does everyone run? My 450 did not come with a owners manaul. I have been trying to download one off of yamaha's site, but my puter does not want to open it.

I use castrol atv 10w40, yamalube 10w40, or anything that is a decent oil in 10w40. Is there any reason to use 20w40? I am just wondering because the yamaha dealer reccomended 10w30 or 10w40. Let me know. Thanks, John

How come you guys use 20w50 oil and not 10w40 or 10w30? I am just wondering because I am thinking of switching over if its better to run.

My Yammy parts guy recommended for me to keep using the 20/50 so I do.

He also stated that Honda is one of the better oils to use.

Ever try that Valvoline 4 stroke atv oil. I buy it here at autozone once in awhile and it works good too. Its like $3 a quart.

Synthetic oils are a waste of money imho.
