Default Steering Stem

So I replaced the steering stem with a Houser steering stem on my 08 YFZ (I wont go into why i had to put one on in the first place lol) and the bolt on the very bottom of the stem is proving to be a pain to tighten enough that I can get the cotter pin in the stem. Does anybody know the torque spec for that bolt? and how might i get it that tight. It makes me a little nervous when my brother is holding the handle bars and im tightening the bolt because i dont want to damage the tierods. any suggestions??

First let the bars/stem turn all the way to one side so that the stop on the steering flag is against the frame, you will turn the bars to the left. Now the stem cant move. Tighten to 130 foot pounds.

If you have it pretty tight now and the hole isnt showing it must need to drop down further.

I run mine on with an impact with a 8" extension on it. Acts as a torque stick so it doesn't kill it. Works great.

Yeah those need to be pretty tight or you will get play in your steering. Remove any skid plate you have underneath and you should be able to access the bolt from underneath the quad with an extension

i can see more than half of the hole for the cotter pin, but its still not quite enough to get the pin through. i already broke one ratchet trying to do it. im gonna try a breaker bar or a torque wrench
