Bad maintenance not bad quads, you cant get away with running these new fourstrokes like you did the two strokes changing oil one a year. LOL. I knew people that did this type of maintenance for years and now they are trying the same thing with fourstrokes. Ticking Time Bomb!!!!

the two guys that i mentioned are good with maintenance they both had yfz before with 2-3 years in em before they did a rebuild, the guy whos father owns the yamaha dealer ship, races a lot, he is forever takin care of it, plus he gets everything dirt cheap ail etc..... h e prefers the new chassis etc but the old engine, they are just two examples but there is thousands who will disagree and rightly
when i bought my 2006 new, i had it about 2 months, i blew it, and yes i ran it in, i had to replace the piston, i went to my mechanic, he didint know why either, everything was perfect, other than the piston and cylinder,
i guess every1 has different experience, im just giving u guys mine form across the pond

With Yamahas the luck has to be on your side. If ure buying new the warranty is something good. but u have to get a good "copy".. My 2nd raptor 350 was perfect... the 3rd one had a noisy ticking engine and the carb stalled everytime while on the air doing jumps.
I guess with the 450's is the same. I might get a ltr450.

You will have more problems with an LTR over a YFZ450R.

The YFZ450R is hands down my favorite quad. No vibration, great power, and the factory suspension is really, really good. It's ergo's are far better, IMO, than the LTR - and it just looks better. I never have liked Suzuki quads much......
