2017 lineup?

Do you guys know when Yamaha is expected to announce the 2017 lineup for ATVs? Seems like they already did for snowmobiles.

I think the dealer show is in September or October?

I doubt they change anything on the 17's......BNG (Bold New Graphics) and plastic colors...etc......If you're waiting on a 17 over 16 buy the 16 and have fun all summer. At this time Yamaha doesn't really have any competition. The Honda TRX is at least 13 years old with very few changes. Can-Am, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Polaris, KTM are all out of the 450 market.

We are all very lucky that Yamaha is making a 450 this good! Thank you Yamaha!! :)

"BNG" - LOL

I have the CANAM DS450 and I am happy but finding parts for it is getting tougher and tougher. More and more aftermarket companies are dropping support for it by the day. CANAM went downhill really fast. Not in a hurry to get a new Yamaha, but do plan to switch eventually so I will wait it out. I really want to see if they announce anything for 2017.

They already have enough colors, no? Maybe they'll announce green? I noticed they do colors of their competitors when their competition drops out. When KTM dropped out, they introduced an orange. When CAN AM dropped out, they introduced Yellow. I think they already did Red too. I'm guessing they might go green as they haven't did a replacement for Kawi yet. :D

I think it works..on the CAN AM facebook group someone posted a DS450 vs yellow Yamaha and said they are switching to the new can am lol...

I think Honda did a little engine work and they changed the eyeball headlight to a mono light...Yep that's what Honda has done...LOL

Yellow has been a color that Yamaha has used on their dirt bike's and three wheelers in the 80's so yellow isn't anything new for Yamaha....I don't think they will have a green bike....

They use to announce everything in June, but last year the sport ATVS were not annouced until the fall. The 2016 dirt bikes were on the floor before they annouced the sport quads.

Honestly just be happy if you can still get a sport quad in 17. With the SXS market where it is, sport quads may and most likely will dissaper for a few years again. Just part of the cycle. Part I the reason why I bought my bank repoed 14.

Seeing a few articles and videos posted in June 2015 announcing the 2016 YFZ450R: » 2016 Yamaha Sport ATV Lineup, First Look:

I do feel happy, and happy to switch over to Yamaha come fall as well. I just really wish there was at least 2 manufacturers in the game, not just 1.

Any tips on switch from DS450 XMX to Yamaha YFZ450R? Easy transition?

You can still buy new Honda TRX'S however, they have carbs and haven't seen updates in years!

2017 models announced today. 450R got only "BNG" lol. I'm happy there is at least a 2017 model! :D Could've been worse.

Excerpt:

Reigning MX and GNCC champ, the unrivaled, race-inspired YFZ450R has a new SE in Black Metallic with GYTR front grab bar. The Team Yamaha Blue / White YFZ450R now comes with a new Team Yamaha Blue seat and color matched a-arms and frame. MSRP for the YFZ450R starts at $8,999.

Awesome!!!!!!!! Finally white plastic....I'm changing mine out this Fall!

Did the 17 get revised cams?

"Camshafts have been revised to help maximize the engine’s impressive power output from off the line all the way up to the top end."

I sense sarcasm? :D

Btw, I don't see white plastics, just black.

Oh I see it now. White plastics are cool. But that front bumper - YUCK. They should've just left it stock.

I think that front bumper was purposely done to make the quad look bigger than it actually is, so that it looks more and sells more like the larger off road quads / utility quads. At least that's the impression I get from it.

That is the GYTR bumper! No sarcasm.... white doesn't show scratches like black and blue.

I'd guess they are the same cam as in the 14 that was revised. Most likely just using the same statement. Haven't read of any other changes so I'd say they didn't. But I could be wrong.

Seams like with the quads Yamaha is on the come out with something new. Update and revise it after a couple of years. Then come out with something new again. At it was the path choosen with the first two yfz's.

Wow they didn't change a thing and they are $9,000! At this price they are going to have to start adding more value like full Fox Floats with true LT arms.... Glad I bought my 14! No wonder why the SXS are becoming so popular....ooch...That's sarcasm... LOL... ;). With this horrible Democratic economy probably isn't the smartest thing to do.....They added like 300 new jobs per state this last quarter...LOL.....it needs to be around 100,000+ and not service jobs....real jobs that pay $30+ per hour to rebuild the middle class that has been destroyed over the last 8 years by the food stamp president....LOL...

Looks like Honda may have discontinued the trx450r....so Yamaha is the last man standing in the sport quad market!
