What skid plates fit the best and provide the best protection? Ideally I'd like a very low and slim profile fit for my swing arm skid. I've done some research and the PRM and Pro Armor skids seem to be among the top choices. With that said, my Pro Armor nerfs don't fit worth a shit, so I'm a little hesitant to go with Pro Armor. Does anyone have any feedback? Which ones fit and perform the best? I'm going to either line X or Rhino line them to keep the apperance looking good as possible. Every skid I've ran in the past seems to show wear early and the aluminum finish dulls quickly. Also what thickness should I get? I'd like to achieve the best protection while keeping the weight down. I don't really ride in rocky conditions, but I seem to run across some occasionally. Thanks for you help!

I run a single sproket guard and a gt thunder rotor guard. The sprocket guard is Lonestar and it is aluminum, the gt rotor guard is a teflon guard, they wear great and still look like new after 2 years of abuse. These are on my wifes xc bike and my xc bike, dont get the double sprocket guard because it can get a rock between the guards and break output shaft behind sprocket,I have seen this numerous times in xc racing, the single sprocket guard cant hold a rock to do this.

The most long lasting and best built chassis skid I have ever used is the PRM and you can't go wrong with GT Thunder sprocket, and rotor guard.

i went with the blingstar set up rotor and sprocket gaurd. its a sweet set up. their is no way your gonna break that. although i think it weights more than my pro armour skid did. i put the set up on both of my bikes.. looks sweet

I pretty much ride 100% sand..yeah the occasional rock pops up here and there but is a full swing arm skid necessary? In the process of my winter rebuild and my swinger skid is done..would like to go rotor/sprocket guards if it's safe.

MXP skid last 1 race for me and was trashed. It was just not a quality piece. The bling star stuff looks pimp and would probably work for sand. If your riding woods or rocks though I would steer clear. The fins on the sprocket guard bend and will eventually cause more problems. And the rotor guard attaches around your carrier. So if your gonna run this you need a billet carrier also, you WILL snap your stock carrier as I did on the first trip out. Of course this is all just my opinion lol.
