I'm looking to get a good looking axle nut. I saw the Blingstar axle nut and it looks pretty good imo. My question is which axle nuts are working good for you guys? Which ones don't come loose, and hold up well? I have an RPM axle, so it would have to be compatible with that.

I'm in the same boat. I've collected all of the parts to swap over to this older style yfz axle. Now I just need to know which axle nut is the best out there. The blingstar is the best looking by far, but I just can't find any reviews online on it to see if its worth a crap.

No, my oem nut is in perfect shape. I just bought a nice chrome RPM axle, LSR brake hub, custom brake rotor, LSR sprocket hub, JL Engineering swinger and LSR wheel hubs. Basically, everything on my rear end is shiny and new. The axle nut will stand out and look like shit if I don't put something nice there in its place. I still need to order a carrier though. I don't think I could go wrong with either LSR or RPM, I just don't know if I should get the twin row or tappered bearings? Any help?

Ok, twin row or tappered? The RPM carriers are priced the same with either option. Whats the pros and cons? I've always used twin rows in the past and never had any issues. The tappered bearings advertise that they can with stand more side load. So at this point I don't really know which one to order. I need to order one asap so I can put my bike together once it comes back from powder.

LSR carrier in my opinion. If you don't do alot of racing man just get the twin row. The tappered in my experience have always required more maintenance. And just a thought you are worried about your axle nut standing out. Get it powdercoated either a gloss black or the color of your factory frame. Would look good

Well I called Nacs Racing and that guy said he could hook me up with an RPM twin row and a RPM axle nut for $269 shipped. Sounds like a pretty good deal compared to everywhere else. I don't want to powder the axle nut because when I need to tighten it, the wrench has potential of chipping the powder. I'm going powder my brake stay gloss black to match the swinger, so that should complete the rear end. Whats your reason for picking LSR over RPM SuperCrew?

Have put them in most the YFZ's I have owned over the years an never had anything other than a factory last as long, and not fail on me.

About Blingstars axlenuts. Those are supposed to be hand tightened. Because if you tighten the axle nut too hard it damages your bearings. Makes your bearings last like 2 rides if tightened really hard. Everyone who has disassembled the front hubs knows this, same story.
Thats why there are locknuts on them :)

Anodize over powder coating your carrier, brake stay, etc. It looks amazing when it's done.
I'm running a Baldwin twin row carrier, RPM axle, & a stock lock nut. Knock on wood, my stock lock nut hasn't failed me yet. I'm not a fan of the dull color of the stock lock nut, but after the holeshot it's usually coated in dirt, dust or mud. I just gave up on worry about it's looks. But, I know what you mean with new parts.

How would you anodize over powder? When I looked into anodizing, the shop explained the process to me as dyeing the aluminum with the color selected. I suppose you could powder over an anodized coat? I'm just going to go with either the RPM or LSR axle nut. The LSR looks better than the RPM imo. I think I've decided against the Blingstar. It just don't appear to lock into place as good as the other two. I could be wrong, but I don't want to find out the hard way. These parts are expensive when you add them all up! Thanks for everyones help. I will post up some pictures in my winter build thread as soon as everything comes back from powder. Stay tuned, this bike is really starting to come together nicely!

I guess my eye hand coordination wasn't with it. I would choose to anodize the parts over powder coating them. Not anodizing them after being powder coated
Sorry about that.

Oh gotcha, haha, that makes more sense! I'm just a little hesitant to powder a nut that will have a wrench put on it. I'm almost certain it will damage the coating, whether it be anodized or powdered.
