I have a 2010 Yamaha YFZ450X Bill Ballance edition and I race XC. I need to buy a steering stabilizer for the upcomming season. Last season I raced the whole season without a stabilizer at all and I did not finish most of the races due to the pounding I was taking. I used to have a stick type on my old YFZ when I raced MX in 2009 but now that I have a new quad, Id like to invest in a quality stabilizer. Money is not a problem. Im debating on the Precision and Precision Pro models. Has anyone used the Pro model yet? I read about the improvements they made to it but I just heard some bad stuff about it from a friend that read something bad about it. Does it have more adjustments then (Center & Sides) or is there a bigger range of adjustment for the Center & Sides adjustment? I thought about buying the CCP but since Im gonna have the money soon, I figured if im buying a stabilizer then Im buying the best one on the market, and to me, thats Precision.

get the Pro, they are suppose to work better when the outside temp. is higher
according to precision, I've had both and can't tell the difference but I'm not a pro either, lol

I have the Precision Pro on my R and love it, as you have said without one you cop a flogging, with one day and night difference, I would not ride without one now, I dont know how many times it has saved my wrists.... not to mention loss of control from hitting large rocks, heaps of adjustments for center/sides, buy one you will love the difference.

Wouldn't waste your money on the pro the regular model is more than fine there isnt really any difference. The pro seems like a gimmick unless you are doing the baja 1000 or something. Save the $ and put it towards some precision bar clamps

The difference is minimum at best, but the PRO will perform better if the outside temp is 90+ degrees because the internal oil stays cooler. The Pro has a slightly better linkage angle setup, but again it's hardly noticeable.

I live about 30 minutes from precision and drove over there a couple weeks ago to pick up a stabilizer and man they are some great people. We BS'd for about 30-40 minutes. The way they explained it to me was that if you never ride in hot temps, the pro wont offer you much. they said that at 90 degrees and up outside temps you will get a conciderable increase in performance over the standard. Cost wasnt all tha much more so i just grabbed the Pro. Man, this is the first time ive ridden with a stabilizer and i can tell you i will never own a bike without one again. I have a bad wrist and in a week of riding the choppy dunes and some long high speed trail runs in the desert, my wrist never gave me a lick of trouble.
