21 is a good size.

and buddah is right about big long hills on being over paddled.

we played around with my bros 08 piped intake yfz.

put 23 inch tall 10 paddle haulers on 8 inch rim lol from a raptor

handled like shiiiiit.

bit amazingly fast in straight line.

way too much for hills. but was fun testing.

they just pulled and pulled on the flats.

different dunes may require different paddle depending on riding style.

a mild build in Oregon dunes a 8 paddle hauler does very well

The smaller the front tire, the more twitchy your front end will be in the sand. The 21" fronts are good for all around duning. The 22's work great and the front end is more stable at high speed. Go with 19" fronts if you're dragging up the hill. You'll pick up a few quad lengths over 21" or 22".

Every dune area is different. It will take some time and testing to see what works best with your mods and riding area. I ride LS Utah and when I race the hill I know for a fact Gliders are faster on my Raptor then Haulers. I like Gliders for running the bowls as they're easier to slide and don't kick up near as much sand when others are following. At St. Anthony, I found Haulers are a little quicker on their hills because they're not near as long as our hill. I have about six set's of rear paddles and all of them are Gilders.

Thats odd, i've found the exact opposite. Gliders have been worth a few extra bike lengths over haulers on everything we've tested in st anthonys.

When I owned a built Honda 450R I raced a friend of mine on Choke Cherry several times. His Honda was a very similar build and we are both the same weight. He was running 6 paddle SLS Haulers and I tried 6 paddle Padla Brats and 8 paddle bead to bead Gliders and he edged me at the top each race, but not by much. We put the Haulers on my 450 and the Gliders & Brats on his and the results were nearly identical. Just my experience. I'm a fan of Gliders and will alway's be my first choice. I run 9 paddle Gliders on my 70 hp Raptor and they work great.

I agree with John Jr. I just bought a set of Skat-Track Extremes 21X12X8 7 paddle from Fullerton. Dave asked questions about the riding I was planning on doing and recomended the appropriate size and number of paddles. He also recomended the most appropriate rims which were Douglas Sport Black Lable 160's I called Skat-Track for prices and they suggested Les Schwab. Then I called Fullerton and they were the best price I found.
