I have a 2010 YFZ 450X and I need a steering stabilizer really bad. I was gonna buy the Precision stabilizer but had to use the money on other things instead. I have used a few "stick type" stabilizers on my 2007 YFZ but the X has the redesigned frame and I dont think that the frame clamp for the stick type will clamp to the odd shape of the frame on the X. Streamline claims that there stabilizer will fit the R/X but the pics look the same as any other stick type stabilizer out there. Has anyone put the Streamline stabilizer on there R or X? How did you mount it? The reason I want to go with the stick type is cause I have a used Denton just layin in a box that I could put on but the only way I can see to mount it, is to clamp it to the bumper mount and then when I turn it might take out my brake line. If I crash and the bumper gets destroyed, then I wont be able to steer it.

I'm pretty sure the picture that streamline is using is just a random picture to show the product. If they say they have a model for the R/X, then I'm sure they do. They just probably use a universal picture.
If you can't afford a Precision, then get a CCP ($200). WAY better than a streamline and not much more expensive. I ran a CCP on my old 700R and yfz and loved that stabilizer. I have a Precision Pro on my yfzR and it's amazing!

I just bought a Streamline 11-way adjustable (AND Rebuildable) stabilizer and i personally like it. I paid 152 for it with free shipping. yeah, its not as good as precision and all the other high end puck style stabilizers, but it gets the job done and i really like mine. And for the money you cant go wrong. It seems really well built. i have one on my 08 yfz and where i got mine they have them for the R/X because i doubt this one would fit and R/X because they have rectangular fram tubes in the front. I can set you some pictures of the mount if you would like, and i dont think that the steering stem is the same diameter on the 08 vs the R/X so thats where it wouldnt work

We have the non-rebuildable, as well as the rebuildable streamline stabilizers in stock for the YFZ450R/X models.

I have thought about buying the CCP stabilizer. Im just worried about buying from a small company. How long does it take to get? Im assuming that CCP builds them as they are ordered. Where do I go to order a CCP? Also about the Streamline stabilizer, I noticed on Streamlines website that no matter what quad you choose, it still lists the same part # which tells me that it is suppost to be universal.

as for CCP, i know when they started out, i contacted them many times to get setup as a dealer.... never got a return email, or call.... i figured that if i couldnt get ahold of them in a reasonable amount of time they werent worth working with. I continue to use Precision myself.

Go with the CCP, no point wasting $$ on the stick stabilizer when for almost the same price you can get the puck style CCP thats comparable to the precision. I have run both the precision and CCP on my R and honestly its not much of a difference. He has great customer serivce. I used mine for over a year and emailed him saying I thought that it might have been messed up and he offered to rebuild it for free. I never ended up taking him up on the offer though because it turned out to be fine. I would still be running the CCP now on my R if I didnt get my precision for so cheap.

I've been running the streamline for a couple years. The damper they originally used was junk, I blew out the first one after 3 rides, they sent me another one and the same thing happened so streamline told me they were changing to anew damper and it was bulletproof and they would send me that. They were right, It has held up great for about 150 hrs. of pounding. Just beware of getting an older style unit, t wont last.
No doubt a puck style is superior but at the time I wasn't willing to spend $500 on one. Didn't know about the CCP but if I had it to do over I would probably go with the CCP. However the Streamline does a pretty good job. Word of warning, the instructions for the streamline, if they haven't corrected them since I bout mine, are erroneous. They show the setup going to the outside of the frame when in fact it has to go to the inside of the frame to work properly and not bind. Cost me a bunch of time in a 110 degree garage trying to figure that out, I was pissed and said so to streamline. Also, the installation needs to be very precise so it will work perfectly through the travel without binding. Take a sharpie and mark horizontal and vertical on your stem and stem clamp so if it gets jarred or comes loose or you have to take things apart it will save you allot of time re-mounting back to the perfect position. |

One of the few streamline owners with good feedback that I've read about. BTW, I can imagine how frustrated you were in the 110 degree garage. It sucks not being able to work in the AC!

Ive got the new style 11 way adjust streamline stabilizer and i personally like it. The first time i rode with it was in a 4 and a half hour 100 mile xc race and it held up PERFECTLY. If that didnt kill it, i would say its pretty durable

I have since decided to go with the Precision stabilizer. I found all the info on the streamline and I was going to buy that but after going to the Ironman GNCC and seeing all the people run the Precision, I figured that If I go with the Precision, then Ill have the best stabilizer out there and I wont second guess the purchase like I would if I got the CCP or Streamline stabilizer.

I have ordered the CCP steering stabilizer (center, sides). I paid $249 for it. I couldve got it cheaper but there was 2 days to go on the ebay auction and I didnt want to delay the shipping by 2 more days so I paid the "buy it now" price. After looking at many pics of the CCP , I can see that CCP has great quality. Im a really picky buyer so if I think it looks like a quality product, then it is. I couldnt justify spending the $485 on the Precision.

I have both the ccp and the precision pro they are on different bikes the ccp is as good as the precision but the precision has just a little more fine tuning ability. Now ccp offers a dual adjustment that is as good as the precision and owning both I wouldnt hesitate to buy the ccp. Also have denton stick type on my trx250r totally restored with brand new parts for everything they are also good but not like the precisions and ccp. Just my 2 cents.

The CCP that I ordered has the dual adjustments, so its equal to the Precision? Thats great to know, money well spent. Its getting delivered today so I took the day off of work so I could be home the moment it shows up,instead of being at work all day in pure torture lol. I think I might get my wife a ccp in the future. She has a Moose Racing stick type but if the CCP is as good as the 100s of review I read on forums, then she'll want one to. We both race XC in Wisconsin.
